About this website:

A little background

I discovered this book at an estate sale in Washington State, in 2011 where it sat on a bookshelf, haphazardly surrounded by a jumble of much more common books. I was fascinated by it, and had no hesitation in purchasing it.

The numbered plates were all out of order, and I spent several hours putting them right. To my surprise, all pages were present. Since then, there have been many pleasant hours spent studying the photos and in learning more about the items contained in them.

Now, four years later, I’m happy to be able to share them with you.

For more about the book, see my first post.

A note:
While on this site the source of these images is referred to as a “book”, perhaps it would be more accurate to call it a “portfolio”, as all the pages are loose. Each page is a black-and-white photographic print.

About me

I love art, history, and books and am especially drawn to Art Nouveau. But I’m not an art historian, nor do I speak French. (I can read it a little, though, and often refer to French-English dictionaries).
